Welcome to the Phil Legacy Foundation, where we are dedicated to creating a brighter future for the next generation.

This foundation was created in honor of Phil Dowdell, a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend, teammate, and leader who was called home April 15, 2023. Phil is from Camp Hill, Alabama where he was raised by LaTonya Allen and Phillip Dowdell. Phil attended Dadeville High School where he was a 3-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. He received numerous awards during his athleltic journey at Dadeville:

He excelled very well in football which blessed him with a scholarship to attend Jacksonville State University, a journey he was very excited about.
Phil not only excelled as an athlete, he also excelled in school and his community where he always made a huge impact on anyone he connected with. He was described as a young man who was god-fearing, always smiling, respectable, dedicated, and a leader who everyone looked up to as a role model.

Our organization is driven by the passion to empower and support children and youth, ensuring they have access to education, mentorship, community service, and opportunities for personal growth. We believe in the potential of every young person and strive to provide the resources and guidance they need to succeed.
